Terms of Service
Last updated 20 June 2026
These terms govern your use of Haspeople. By creating an account or booking a session, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy and Cancellations & Refunds policy.
1. Who we are
Haspeople (“Haspeople”, “we”, “us”) operates an online marketplace at haspeople.com that connects students with independent language teachers for paid one-to-one sessions. We provide the platform; teaching itself is delivered by independent teachers, not by Haspeople.
2. Accounts & eligibility
You need an account to book or teach. You must give accurate information and keep your login secure. If you are under 18, you may use Haspeople only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the account and any bookings.
3. Bookings, prices & payments
- Teachers set their own net rate. Haspeople adds a small platform fee on top, shown clearly before you pay. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay, in Indian Rupees (INR).
- Payments are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay. Your payment for a session is held and only released to the teacher after the class is completed (managed payouts), which protects both sides.
- A first session with a new teacher may carry a discounted trial price. Package prices are shown in full before you pay.
4. Cancellations & refunds
Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Cancellations & Refunds policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: the earlier you cancel, the more you get back, and if a teacher cancels you are fully refunded.
5. Privacy & communication
To protect everyone, students and teachers do not exchange phone numbers, email addresses or other personal contact details. All communication happens through Haspeople's in-app messaging and the class video link. Messages that try to share contact details may be automatically hidden, and repeated attempts can lead to review or suspension.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- take communication or payment off the platform to avoid fees;
- harass, abuse, discriminate against or deceive other users;
- post unlawful, infringing or harmful content; or
- disrupt, scrape or attempt to break the platform's security.
7. For teachers
Teachers apply and are reviewed before going live. As a teacher you confirm you have the right to teach what you offer, you set your own rates and receive them in full, and you are responsible for your own taxes. Payouts are released after sessions complete, subject to our dispute and refund policies. Teachers are independent and are not employees or agents of Haspeople.
8. Content & materials
You keep ownership of the materials and messages you share. By sharing them on Haspeople you grant us a limited licence to host and display them to the other party in your booking, so the platform can work. Don't share content you don't have the rights to.
9. Disclaimers & liability
Haspeople is provided “as is”. We vet teachers but do not guarantee any specific learning outcome. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid for the booking in question. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Suspension & termination
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or puts other users at risk. Pending bookings and refunds are handled under the relevant policies.
11. Changes
We may update these terms as the product grows. If we make material changes we'll take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use Haspeople after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, the courts at Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, India have jurisdiction over any disputes.
